A ground sheet is a meshed or netted fabric, made from high-density polyethylene, and is an essential item for any camping kit. It is placed under the tent to reduce the wear and tear on the bottom by protecting against rough surfaces. Ground sheets act as a floor and reduce the amount of dust and dirt that you walk into your tent or caravan, and can also be used for picnics or garden parties.
 
The meshed structure prevents the grass from dying due to a lack of light and air, while also allowing water to fall straight through (no flooding). Ground sheets are easy to clean, do not absorb water and do not rot or unravel.
